Glitch

Game was ok but unfortunately there are some bugs that are quite bothersome.

1- later in the game CPU appears to call in more troops then their "Time" allows

2- Long spear men loosing to scout horsemen? even if it is the first strike... that's pretty weak, Almost better off countering with archers or another horsemen if not for the 50% attack bonus.

3- ran into a game-ending glitch after the 3rd attacker came, I ran him between 3 area's for about 10 minutes to build cash over a few turns, and when I finally went to confront him the battle screen loaded, but my units weren't there, and neither were his. retreating did nothing, and I couldn't continue the game.

hmmm that's all I can think of in the way of bugs.

however there were some other problems.

rail system = win + fail

Pros: units ai is simple, not very laggy, hit-markers are easier to deal with, and spawning is really easy

Cons: Enemy ai will spam units, units casually pass enemy units as if they aren't there (unrealistically), if you start to loose even a little your chances for bouncing back are very slime more so with the aggressive perk you gave some of the AI.

The game's not worthless, it was fun for a while till I hit glitch #3, I'd probably play it again, please take my criticisms into account and don't worry about the glitches to much.

I'm sure they were much worse during testing >.<

Awesome

As short as it was, it was a wonderful game. I played it twice to see both sides of the story.

To me its kind of like "What would you do for your beloved? How far would you go?" kind of deal.

Would you make your life harder if it made theirs easier?
Would you sacrifice yourself to save them?
Do you trust them to do the same for you?
Can you give up your desires for this person?

The first time around I thought of it as if I was a puppet, being used by some horrible witch for their enjoyment. So naturally I rebelled, I did nothing they desired me to.

But the 2nd time I did everything, and personally even if I got used "that" badly I prefer that outcome overall.

Because if you know what your getting is what you really need, then all barriers to your goal just fall away, and for me, that would be my gf.

Awesome

One of the very best retro shooters I've played in a long time.

My only complaint is that there are no save points or unlocks that would allow you to quickly build up your ship instead of waiting through it for hours to slowly gather all the creds for it.

great game though

awsome

10 stars for you good sir.

The game seemed entirely to short, if your intent on making a G.G. 2 I'd like to see some more challenging elements perhaps going to a higher or lower altitude in which there is very little air-traffic or very weak air-traffic that will force the player to choose which ships to infect more carefully.

Perhaps in GG2 you could add fuel to various ships. The ships with highest fuel could be the most volatile or prone to explosion and the ships with lowest fuel will be the least volatile (not necessarily most defensive).

Ammo would be something good to add as well. Running out of ammo will ultimately force the player to change ships or else evade fire for forever.

A Suspicion meter is another good idea. Being a virus if you infect a ship and don't fire on other ships they don't go hostile, to counter this heavier ships will have sensors that can detect the virus.

You could easily make gg2 an rts game based on the same principles of this one, for instance, using the crystals found in the mines you can manufacture more viruses (like an amoeba multiplying) and each virus cloud will have limited time to infect a ship.

To assist with this you could steal or start with a ship called a "Hauler" or a recovery rig that can be used to drag other ships closer to the crystals.

If you wanna keep it a side-scroller I can only suggest more ships and more levels, variation is your friend.

and congratulations on a great game.

O.o

Wow that guys life sucks.

Your choices are pretty much the following.

1- Happy but Alone
2- Safe but Bored
3- Suicidal but in love

I can only sit and wonder what was going through the authors mind while he was making this.

Seriously, What inspired this I'm dieing to know.

Wow

possibly 10 times better then the first obviously like everyone else i have a few criticisms I'll try to be helpful though.

The Good:

1- The complexity is awesome, I've never had so much control over a band before in any kind of flash game. this is "the" best music game I've ever played (Far surpassing RockBand 2 and even SCGM Delux 3)

2- The controls for the guitars are simple enough to be fun and hard enough to be challenging. good job.

3- Band customization seems to be optimum. I really feel like I can control every aspect of the band.

4- The notes are great but the lag seems to obliterate the timing (I think its just me though)

5- From PoM1 who didn't want to go on a tour with their band?

The Bad:

1- Lag... Omg the lag... This game made me feel like I had to buy a new computer just to play it... I'm sure you did everything you could to make it lag less and I couldn't begin to suggest how to fix it. But it was so laggy for me I could hardly play on practice mode on lowest quality.

Your lag most likely stems from loading so many different audio tracks loading at once, I would suggest either switching to a different code (like LUA or C++) for the game engine as they tend to be less laggy, or after saving the song allow all the sounds to compile together into 1 audio track although I don't see how you'd do that, at least not in flash.

2- A little dramatic for my tastes. first part of tour "Sid's Prophecy" over did it a little.

I'd Probably have more to say but I've kinda just started playing. Hope you translate the game to LUA or C++ so its not so laggy.

Oh and overall good job.

Evil-Dog responds:

Well if you know things I don't know please send me a personnal message, convert to lua? c++? in flash? haha

Awesome

Coulda been long but it was a really great game.

oh and btw

Money Maker - After getting the first ruby reopen the safe continuously until you have 10 rubies

agreed

its a decent try but the combat is sketchy at best, in order to fix it you should revise the hit/miss system with a dice roll (1 to 100) where the randomly selected number is your % to hit, then influence that number by the combat and strength skills (just add them on).

the equation is something like this (not remade for AS use)
random (1-100) + combatskill + strength = % to hit (for hand-to-hand)
random (1-100) + Magicskill + Intelligence = % to hit (for magic attacks)

Doing that should give you a more accurate hit/miss system.

if you already have a system like that, add a +10 to the end of the equation to increase the accuracy of any given attack.

hope this helps

good...

its a good game but its insanely annoying on stage 4 after 1st boss.

there is no getting by that. your best hope is to dodge enough bullets just in time for the first grenade to go off (you can kill all 6 with 2 grenades)

when you start out your immediately in range of the 2 on the far left and the one on far right (from their formation)

taking 2 steps back pulls the one in far right out of range. but the 2 in far left are still in range to fire even though your on the other side of the screen (directly opposite of them)

I believe this is a programming error and the 2 far left were ment to fall out of range as you move down to the right (allowing you to move back even if its with a slightly better chance)

but to put it bluntly stage 4 after boss is nerfed. you can't beat that one, don't even try, it would be argueable if you changed levels taking your HP from the last with you, but you start with 100%hp and 100%armor.

if you could take maybe 6 shots instead of 3 (common you got armor on for crying out loud) then it would be beatable. almost easily beaten. because its necesarry to take 3 or 4 shots of fire to strafe into safety for the grenades to go off.

and yes I did just rant about that for this hole review because its a huge issue in your game that needs to be repaired or lightened.

also.

1- patience isn't going to work on that level you start the level being shot at.

2- hide and seek??? there's nothing to hide behind at all.

3- ok grenades was actually a good tip because 2 will kill all 6 (you damage the scientist just a tad.

thank you for your time, if this problem is fixed I'll PM a revised review to you

what...

eh an ok time waister. no point in going left on some levels but the ice and fire words (D and E last 2) lagged me into oblivion for some reason.

now thats. alot of scripts running at once... although you coulda just made all that a movie-clip with the first frame trigging the next and so-on with a hit-test thrown in on the movie-clip.

but you apparently did it a different way.

I didn't really care for it sense a- it wasn't new, I've seen games like this before, b- levels were short and it did have a few glitches (mostly concerning the ball on level 3 you've gotta run from) and c- it froze "flash" and I'm working with enough ram to run warrock on high quality, that takes alot of unneeded scripting

I the lord am but a pawn of a greater lord.
